Catch Chanel’s butterflies




… if you can. Chanel‘s summer make-up collection, L’Été Papillon de Chanel, available from May 31, is packed with covetable limited editions – made all the more collectable as it’s swansong of creative director Peter Philips, who is stepping down from the role (though he will continue to team up with the brand). Inspired by butterfly wings, the collection is a riot of iridescent blues and greens with flashes of intense coral. The constant challenge for Philips is to create nail colours that can’t be copied too easily – and the three new ones show why Chanel is ahead of the pack: try Azuré (pictured here), which shifts from blue to green in the light; it’s mesmerising.
